The Green Hornet and… Scowl?

Oh, come on. How stupid can this get? Kato and Britt have had sex. Kato nearly leaves. Britt gets her to stay for “one of the reasons” that she won’t say, and then, from some issues ago, they’ve both taken this Moonbeam kid (who calls himself Scowl now after his late employer) to fight crime with them?

He looks like a cross of DC’s Green Arrow and Damian Wayne.

I keep telling myself, “well, it’s too soon. I’m sure there’s a real reason the writers have Scowl in here”, but so far I don’t see it. I see him as an annoying, extra character that’s ruining the Green Hornet and Kato machine.
